There are over 1000 swash Initials, ligatures, beginning and end characters, etc. that are added individually to "fancy" the poem's font. It's a process similar to the old style hand setting only using the computer. Hand calligraphy could be done but it takes too much time to make an economical personalized product. Each poem's decoration is hand colored and gold accented to match the selected mat colors.
